CHAPTER 1

1.1 INDUSTRY ANALYSIS

IT growth in past years is robust and has grown by nearly annual rate of 40% according
to last years data. According to Bureau Of Labour Statistics US unemployment in It
sector remained at 2.6%. This data reveals the state of digital transformation around the
world in IT field. Apart from being solid, cloud computing industry is still in a force in
just a few years time, cloud computing has become the main method of the worlds
data objects. With cloud computing objects such as computing power and bandwidth,
a new IT economy is taking its presence, just as the industrial revolution was made
feasible by ubiquitous energy. Now generally all latest IT sector technology are created
and triggered by the cloud computing devices for example, the rise in demand for real-
time analytics, the reconsideration of security models, and the industry refocusing on
software and hardware above hardware as the principal growth driver.IT plays an
important role for improving the flow of informational good and services from
producers to consumers. The two different elements of IT technology is 1)
Employment, and 2) IT occupations spanning all industry sectors.IT sector include
employments in both technological as well as non-technological background.

IT generally means application of proven scientific findings and knowledge to solve all
practical problems in ecommerce, which generally takes many forms of definition and
also includes various disparate verticals and frameworks of which five frameworks are
as follows:

Each segment of Information Technology mentioned above has contributed toward


growth opportunities and employment. Information Technology also involves
amalgamation of digital business, infrastructure, and software services.etc.

IT CHANNEL

The mechanism to connect to customers in every industry sector across the


economy to provide with various products and services is known as IT channel.
Some business also function to directly sell goods to consumers which is known as
business to consumers. Whenever any product or service is being developed it is
routed through a distributor and a resellers before reaching a consumer.

IMPLEMENTATION

IT products and service require an integration and amalgamation to create a custom


products and services. Even in an advance technology any technical problem may
require a support or maintenance, this support is provided my solution providers
and MSPs spread across the country to meet the customers needs.

IT OCCUPATION EMPLOYMENT

Above include technical as well as non-technical occupations, amongst technical


occupation includes engineers, computer specialist and non-technical includes
manufacturing, retail, professional services.

Indian IT industry witnessed lows and disappointment in 2016-2017 period. There was
increment in digital agenda, coupled with greater investments from government side.
Investments in digital skills such as social, analytics cloud computing and mobility
showed greater improvements. Evolution of IT India sector is as follows:

1. Pre-1995

During early 90s US based companies began to outsource due to cheap labour
and skilled talent

2. 1995-2000

Indian IT industry grew and matured. There were more investments in R&D

3. 2000-05

Number of IT firms grew in size and employment opportunities grew

4. 2005-16

Indian firm grew into multinational companies with many centres around the
globe. Revenue reached heights, also employment IT sector is estimated to
reach 3.7 million

Indias IT market size growing

1. Indias technology & BPM sector (including hardware) is likely to generate


revenues of USD160 billion during FY16 compared to USD146.5 billion in
FY15, implying a growth rate of 9.5 per cent
2. The contribution of the IT sector to Indias GDP rose to approximately 9.3 per
cent in FY15
3. TCS is the market leader, accounting for about 10.4 per cent of Indias total IT
& ITeS sector revenue in FY16
4. The top 5 IT firms contribute over 25 per cent to the total industry revenue,
indicating the market is fairly competitive
