3&4 – While still encouraging creative minds your pre-schooler will love learning basic
movements of ballet and tap in a structured class also mindful to reinforcing social skills.
Students will learn some basic terms while still learning most skills through the world of pretend.
As a treat for them, strength building is done while rolling, hopping, and crawling on tumbling
mats at the end of class. As a treat for you and your family, students will perform both a ballet
and tap dance at the end of the year recital in their beautiful costume.

5&6 – Sign up for non-stop action in an educational and creative atmosphere where your child
will soak up terminology while to learning correct ballet and tap placement and execution. This
highly structured class will still provide fun for their wild imaginations and tumbling for strength
building. Students will perform both a ballet and tap dance at the end of the year recital in their
beautiful costume.

Level I – V: Age and skill based levels from basic to intermediate to advanced ballet, tap, and
jazz. Some introduction to lyrical, hip hop, and character dance. Focused on correct execution
and building the foundation for a life enriched by dance. Always encouraging self expression
and creativity through movement as well as social skills needed to work in tight knit groups.
Each level will perform a ballet, a jazz, and a tap in the end of the year recital in 2 different
costumes.

Intermediate or Advanced extra: (Age 8 and older) If your child just can’t get enough dance or is
interested in our competition teams, these are extra classes they may take on a different day of
the week. Extra class will broaden their minds and dance experience. One dance per class will
be performed in the end of the year recital in a costume.

Basic Extra Jazz – For students in Level I who just can’t get enough dance in their regular class.
Also introduces students to some character dance and hip hop. **This class is tentatively
scheduled. If there is not enough interest it will be dropped. There will be one dance for this
class performed in the end of the year recital, costume may be a separate order or the same
from their regular class.

Pointe – Provided only as an extra class and by teacher invitation only. Students must take this
class to wear pointe shoes in their level class. There will be one performance for Pointe I & II at
the end of the year recital. This class may have one separate costume or we may try to use a
costume ordered for their regular class.

Gymnastics – Floor tumbling only in 4 levels based on skill. Focused on strength building,
acrobatic tricks, and great for learning tumbling skills for cheerleading. There will be one
performance and costume per class for the end of the year recital.

Zumba - The unique Zumba Latin inspired international music and dance steps create a
dynamic, exciting and effective fitness system. Designed for everyone, every shape and age.
Anyone can start a Zumba class and have fun. This program is not limited to dancers, fitness
fanatics or seniors. All exercisers from beginner to advanced will enjoy the benefits. As Womens
World Magazine says, Burn 800 or more calories an hour with The Hot New Workout Zumba! A
cardio-based workout with sculpting exercises designed to tone the entire body from top to
bottom. Zumba is fun, which motivates class participants to adhere to the program, even after
they get the results they desire. Zumba helps improve self-esteem, self- confidence, and self-
image. They keep coming back because it is FUN. Zumba is great for the mind, body and soul.

Studio Policies

Classes cancelled or missed may be made up during another class time during the week until
January. Classes cancelled or missed January-May there will not have make-ups.

Attendance – It is very important that students attend all the scheduled classes. I will make
every effort to be at every class, and I expect you and your student to do the same. Missing
class slows the learning process and agitates the students and teachers. If a student misses so
many classes during recital practices that he or she does not know a dance, the teacher has the
right not to allow the student to perform even if the account is paid up.

Promptness – On your registration information form, there is a place to inform me what your
earliest time of arrival will be. A student arriving late seriously disrupts a class, not to mention,
the student has missed out on a part of the lesson not to be repeated. Please inform the
teacher if you are going to be even five minutes late (318-548-2748).

As for my older students, if you are late, you miss the warm up and risk injury as well as
instructions for the night. Do not be surprised if the door is locked if tardiness becomes a
problem. You all have my phone number, call me if there is even a remote possibility of
tardiness.

Illness – If a student is contagious or miserable, do not bring the student to class. Please
inform the teacher before the class begins of the absence as a courtesy. If the younger
students do not feel well, they do not need to be in class, as we want happy students and a
class that runs smooth for all. If older students are not feeling well, but is not contagious, they
should come to class to observe during recital season

Quitting –If a child is considering quitting, please inform the teacher to discuss the problem.
Sometimes we can work together for a resolution. Please remember also that if a student
quits during recital time that it will disrupt the class for every other student as well as for the
teacher. Special consideration is taken for EVERY student and dances will have to be
rearranged and re-taught every time a student quits.
***Until a parent or guardian informs the teacher that a child is quitting the child’s name remains
on the roster and tuition is charged for the month. The person responsible for the account
payment will be responsible for all costume, recital, tuition, and late fees charged until the
teacher is informed.

Teachers Discretion – I place students in levels completely according to my judgment of a

student’s skill level and NOT age or by friends. Please feel free to call me at any time if you
have any problems, concerns, or questions (318) 548-2748.
