BYOT Classroom Rules

1. You must have teacher permission to use your device in class.


2. When using your technology you must remain on task. (No YouTube videos, Snapchat,
etc.)
3. Each student must have parent permission to bring any form of technology into the
classroom. The permission form is to be signed and returned to the teacher.
4. Students should abide by school rules when using their technology. (No bullying,
plagiarism, use of vulgar language, etc. will be tolerated.)
5. Do not use technology during instructional time.
6. Each student is responsible for his/her own technology.
7. Any student who brings their own technological devices (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.) is
responsible for taking care of the device and keeping their device secure. Teacher
approval is required before students can share devices.
8. If the student uses a school device, he or she must abide by the same rules as they would
with a personal device brought to school.
9. Devices should be "asleep" or turned off when not in use. In the event that a device dies
during an assignment, school devices will be provided and/or charging stations can be
provided in the event of an emergency.
10. School devices are to be returned to their proper location when not in use. Technology
brought from home should be put away when not in use.
