PART I: The Companys Current CSR Picture
Philex Mining Corporation and its subsidiaries fall under two main business groups: the
metals business and the energy business. PMC, along with Philex Gold Philippines, Inc.
(PGPI) and Silangan Mindanao Mining Co., Inc. (SMMCI) operate the metals business,
while Philex Petroleum Corporation (PPC) handles the energy business. PMCs
corporate office is located in Pasig City, Metro Manila, Philippines.
In 1956, Philex Mining Corporation started its exploration work in Padcal Mine located in
the Tuba and Itogon of Benguet province. There total deposit as of that time is 18
million tons of copper. There are now several successful discoveries that after 46 years,
they generated a total of $2.47 billion in foreign currency for the Philippine government.
Philex Petroleum and its subsidiaries Forum Energy plc (FEP), registered in England
and Wales, and FEC Resources, Inc. (FEC), integrated in Canada, are mainly focused in
oil and gas exploration and production. Correspondingly, Philex Petroleum holds the
Brixton Energy & Mining Corporation (BEMC), which mainly focuses in coal production in
Zamboanga Sibugay.
In the 1980s, the exploration of Philex Mining centers on gold acquisition. Since then, it
has been placed on a care-and-maintenance phase.

The Company had 44,296 shareholders as of December 31, 2015 with 4,940,399,068
common shares issued and outstanding, 39.30% owned by foreign nationals and
institutions. In PMC, they aim to attract investors by providing higher dividends per year.

Community
PMC seeks support from the communities nearby for the smooth operations of the
mines, while assuring them the safety of the people and economic development of the
community. Mines of the company are located in Padcal, Benguet, Silangan, Surigao del
Norte, Bulawan, Negros Occidental, and Sibutad, Zamboanga del Norte.
Government
Building partnerships with the local government units located in the community to ensure
the development of the community. The primary concerns will be the management of the
environment and the social programs of the company for the local people.
Suppliers
The Company, its directors, officers and employees endeavor to promote a culture of
good corporate governance in their business relationships with the Company's
suppliers/contractors. The Company shall promote and implement standards of
relationships with suppliers that embody the principles of the Companys Code of
Business Conduct and Ethics and core values as defined in the Code. Directors,
Employees and Consultants shall maintain the Companys reputation for equal
opportunity and honest treatment of Suppliers in all business transactions.
