Air-air bushing for indoor use

General characteristics
The PRB bushings can be used as medium voltage inlet for indoor air insulated devices
such as switchgears, in particular for applications in quite small machines.
The bushings are realized on the one side with a coupling interface in accordance with
EN 50180-50181 (DIN 47636; HN 52-S-61) standards. This type of interface allows a
connection with the relevant moving connector. On the other part the sheded side allows a
bare electrical wire connection.

Accessories
Plastic cap for coupling interface protection.
Only on request, alluminium flange suitable to fix the bushing to the steelwork.
The fixing flange is necessary for the 400A version for mobile connector fastening.

Assembling instructions
Bushing insulator PRB
Prepare the holes on the body of the tank as indicated in the steelwork holes Lay-out. Remove the paint, or any insulating coat
in the area of fixing holes, in order to guarantee a correct earth connection of the bushing.
Moreover, make sure that the surface where the bushing is placed is without any type of roughness or unevenness. It must be
completely clean in order to guarantee a perfect tightness. It is recommended to use the fixing flange in order to strengthen the
area where the bushing is fixed to the tank. For 400A version the use of the flange is necessary for mobile connector fastening.
Place the flange, when used, and tighten the 3 fixing screws M6, together with their relevant washers, with a tightening force
value of 911 Nm. The tightening operation must be done crosswise. The lower connection (M16) must be fastened with a
tightening force value of 90100 Nm.
During mounting operations the plastic protective cap must be fitted and pressed right down on the bushing, in order to avoid
faults caused by dirt or accidental scratching of the interface.

Type BSL
Composite insulators for line switches

General characteristics
The composite insulators type BSL are suitable to be used in MV line switches.
These insulators are realized with a fiberglass and epoxy resin core and aluminium end
fittings and covered by silicon rubber. This material gives best performances for an outdoor
use: abrasion resistance against UV rays, in environements with very high pollution level and
with high salinity concentration. Silicon is unbreakable and hidrophobic. It is not necessary
to plan any maintenance operation, even in particularly difficult environement conditions.

Application
Outdoor line switches.

Bushing insulator PRI. Nominal current 630 A
Prepare the holes on the body of the tank as indicated in the Max operating voltage 24 kV
steelwork holes Lay-out. Remove the paint, or any insulating Frequency withstand voltage 55 kV
coat in the area of fixing holes, in order to guarantee a Impulse withstand voltage 125 kV
correct earth connection of the bushing. Creepage distance 380 mm.
Moreover, make sure that the surface where the bushing is Weight 1,95 kg.
placed is without any type of roughness or unevenness. It
must be completely clean in order to guarantee a perfect
tightness.
Connect to earth, when not used as capacitive outlet, the M5
thread (A) connected to the equipotential screen.
Tighten the 6 fixing screws M6, together with their relevant
washers, with a tightening force value of 9 11 Nm. The
tightening operation must be done crosswise. The lower
connection (M10) must be fastened with a tightening force
value of 30 35 Nm.
