AN EMERGENCY
RESPONSE SYSTEM
With Airtel Safe City solutions.
The Challenge
Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state in India. In fact, it is the most populous
country subdivision in the world. In order to better serve its more than 200 Million
citizens, UP Police wanted a technology solution that would help them respond to
distress calls with much more agility in 700 cities and 100,000 villages.

Airtels Solution
Airtel created a unique solution suitable to the needs of UP Police. The solution was
enabled by a dual MPLS cloud supporting 140 locations around the state and a DR
site for hosting all data to a central location in Bangalore. 1500 police stations and
3200 PCR vehicles were connected to the central database, which ensured real-time
SMS updates to the police force, enabling them to quickly reach the citizens in need
of assistance.

Business Impact
Airtels Solution enabled UP Police in their eorts to become more responsive and
accountable to over 200 million citizens of the state. With real-time updates and
connectivity, it became easier for the entire police force to coordinate and enhance
their eorts to provide safety and security to the people.
