Dear Mr
Thank you for your email of 26 April sent in response to my letter of 6 April. I am sorry
that you are dissatisfied with my response.
I have reviewed the contents of your most recent correspondence and having done so I
can confirm that I have nothing further to add to my previous letter. I am sorry about the
difficulties that you experienced but I cannot comment on a local councils decision to
bring council tax liability proceedings. However, the offer of compensation made in my
previous letter still remains open to you to accept. If you would like to accept the sum of
750 please let me know how you would like to receive payment. I am sorry but I do
not propose to comment further on this matter.
You have referred to approaching your MP regarding your complaint. This is the correct
procedure if you do not consider that my reply has dealt with your complaint
satisfactorily. Ordinarily, you can ask your MP to refer it to the Parliamentary and
Health Service Ombudsman (the Ombudsman); however, between 3 May and the
General Election on June 8, the Ombudsman will not be able to accept new complaints
about UK Government Departments and other public organisations. Details of what
action you can take during this period can be found by visiting www.ombudsman.org.uk
or telephone 0345 015 4033.
Yours sincerely
