Type of lesson: Lesson of communication of new knowledge

Description of the class:
So far the students have completed three years of English classes (about 300
hours).

Recent work: Modular revision and assessment

Lesson aims:
To create interest in the topic
To promote discussion and to practice a dialogue using the names of certain
countries, languages and nationalities;
To raise expectation and create involvement in the reading task
To present & practice the vocabulary about future actions
To express ideas and opinions about the topic and to use the going to form to
speak about future plans;

Content:
Vocabulary: - language related to countries
Functions: reporting, expressing opinions
Grammar: Prepositions of place, Going to future

Methods: conversation, reading, discovery, explanation, brainstorm, illustration,


observation, debate.

Aids (materials): textbook, Mimio board, video projector, worksheets, posters, drawings
, coloured pencils and markers, flashcards, CDs, DVD, Activity book.

Feed back: Both the teacher and the students provide continuous feed back through
observations. The teacher checks that the students complete the tasks entirely and
correctly at any stage of the lesson, she gives extra explanations whenever necessary, she
monitors certain students in order to prevent possible problems. When they work in
groups, the students are asked to agree on what their group is to present to the class.

Assessment: The teacher assesses the students` answers through observations and
envolves them in the correction process. The students are also asked to express opinions
about their own and their colleagues` answers.
