Funder and Country Director - DOUJA Foundation since July 2016.


The Douja Foundation started as an emergency response initiative during the winter of 2014, targeting
Informal Tent Settlements (ITSs) effected by recurrent snow storms to provide basic life support to
vulnerable Syrian refugees and host communities. Subsequently after that, Douja Initiative began to
include a number of sub-Initiatives that focus on five main categories as following Food Items, Non-Food
Items, Prevention, Psychosocial support, and Advocacy.
Over the last two years, the Initiative reached more than 100 Informal tent settlements between Jordan
Valley and Mafraq governorate, and more than 30,000 direct beneficiaries.
As of July 2016, with increase in demand and change of context, the initiative expanded to become The
Douja Foundation, to focus further on seven domains includes Food Distribution, Non-Food Items
Distribution, Prevention, Psycho-social support, Advocacy, Solid Waste management, and Cash for work.
