Alert Chart: Category No Alert Alert Announce

1) Natural calls and responses that are within expected norms do not require an alert, such as Stayman, Blackwood, or a natural 1NT opening bid between 10-21 HCP. 2) Conventional calls and artificial bids that are not announced must be alerted, such as unusual notrump overcalls or jumps, transfers, or strong forcing two club openings. 3) For natural calls that fall outside the expected range, additional information must be provided, such as stating the range for a 1NT opening bid or that a response "may be short" when applicable.
