Description
The E2000-ODF BOX is designed by Huawei for WDM products. It can house a maximum of
six pairs of LSH/APC-LSH/APC (E2000-E2000) fiber adapters, enabling fiber splicing and
facilitating fiber distribution between high-power optical amplifier boards and an ODF. This helps
ensure the cleanness of fiber endfaces and reduce the number of common optical fiber
connectors, minimizing link loss, facilitating fiber connections, fiber management, and
maintenance.
The E2000-ODF BOX can be installed in an ODF rack or a standard rack for Huawei WDM
products. It can also be installed in a 19-inch open rack or 21-inch open rack by adjusting the
positions of the mounting ears.

1 Install the Box on a rack

Install the floating nuts .

1. This guide takes the box installed on a 19-inch open rack as an example. It can also L
be installed on an 21-inch open rack. The following describes how to adjust the
installation positions for mounting ears when it needs to be installed in an 21-inch open
rack. L L 100 mm
2. It is recommended that 100 mm vertical space be reserved between a box and a
subrack in WDM Equipment.

Use the strength member to move E2000 optical fibers to equipment subrack from the rear part of
the Box to the front part: Thread the strength member through the cable incoming hole from the front
part of the Box. Fasten the strength member and E2000 optical fibers to equipment subrack using
insulating tape. Pull the strength member to move E2000 optical fibers to equipment subrack to the
front part of the Box.

side. 2. Colligation point with the cable tie should be at least 50 mm from the box in
horizontal direction and 200 mm -260 mm in vertical direction so that the
bending radius of the optical fiber is not less than 30 mm.
3. The length of E2000 optical fibers to customers fiber cable is about 1200
mm, and the length of the roll protection tube is L+100mm (L: E2000 optical

1. If the fiber connectors are not clean, the optical

loss on the line increases and the test result is
affected. Therefore, all the fiber connectors must be
cleaned during the optical fiber connection and test.
For more information about cleaning the connector
port of E2000, see the Inspecting and Cleaning the
Optical Fiber Connectors chapter in the applicable
product documentations for OptiX WDM Equipment.
2. Ensure that the bending radius of fibers is not less
than 30 mm.
