CBSE UGC NET is a national level exam meant for scrutinizing the expert of the knowledge
required for holding the position of Lecturers/professors/ associates/ research fellows at
Indian varsities & colleges.
CBSE UGC NET Eligibility criteria is define in two main aspects given below:

The appearing candidates of final year are also eligible to apply for the examination
(provided they have to qualify the examination before awarding the post).
Those candidates will get 5% relaxation in aggregate marks whose masters degree
was completed by 19th September 1991.
Education Qualification - UGC NET
The candidates must have passed their PG Degree from well recognized Universities and
Colleges.
There are not such upper age limit criteria for Assistant Professors.
Age Relaxation:
5 years age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to OBC, ST, SC, PWD.

CSIR and UGC are two different governmental departments and both conduct their
respective NET entrance exam.
The former is conducted for the Science stream, whereas the latter is conducted for all
the other streams called as CBSE UGC NET.
CSIR NET exam is an exam which checks the eligibility of the candidates to apply for Junior
Research Fellowship (JRF) or Lectureship (LS).
