Solution
We have been given that there are at least 3 chocolates of each brand and the number of chocolates
of no two brands are equal. Hence the possible distribution of 4 brands of chocolates can be (3, 4, 5, 8)
or (3, 4, 6,7).
Similarly it is known that each friend has at least 3 chocolates and the number of chocolates with no
two of them are equal, hence the number of chocolates with the four friends can be (3,4,5 and 8) or (3,
4, 6 and 7)
But we have been given that the number of chocolates with Tushar is 7. Hence the number of
chocolates with the four friends must be (3,4, 6 and 7).
It is given Pawan got 2 dairy milks more than each of the other 3 friends. Hence the number of dairy
milks would be of the form 4k + 2. Among the given possibilities only 6 is of the form 4k+2. Thus, the
number of chocolates of the 4 brands must be 3, 4, 6 and 7.
It also implicates that Pawan got 3 dairy milks while each of the other friends got 1 dairy milk each. It
has been given that Sudeep did not get any Bourneville and Sudeep got 1 five star and 2 perks. So the
total number of chocolates received by Sudeep is 1 + 2 + 1 = 4.
Now it is given that Rohit got at least 1 chocolate of each kind. So the least number of chocolates with
Rohit = 4. The only possibility greater than 4 is 6. Hence Rohit must have got 6 chocolates. This would
mean that Pawan got only three chocolates. Thus Pawan will not get any chocolate other than Dairy
Milk.

It is given that Rohit and Tushar got equal number of Bourneville while no one else got any Bourneville.
So the number of Bourneville chocolates must be even. There are only two even numbers in the
distribution (4 and 6). We know that the number of Dairy milks is 6. So the number of Bourneville must
be 4. Hence both Tushar and Rohit have 2 Bourneville each. Now the number of 5 star is either 3 or 7.
If the number of 5 stars is 7 then number of 5 stars with Rohit and Tushar is 6. Rohit can have a
maximum of 2 five stars, since he has a total of 6 chocolates.
This would mean that Tushar should have at least 4 five stars. But this is not possible. Hence the
number of 5 stars must be 3 while the number of number of perks must be 7.
Thus we have the following arrangement
