Students will learn that . . .
1. Many different ethnic groups and religions influence the culture of Indias neighbors.
2. Rapid population growth, ethnic conflicts, and environmental threats are major challenges to the
region today.
TEKS: (3) Geography. The student uses geographic tools to answer geographic
questions. The student is expected to: (C) compare various world regions and
countries using data from geographic tools, including maps, graphs, charts,
databases, and models
(6) Geography. The student understands that geographical patterns result from
physical environmental processes. The student is expected to: (C) analyze the
effects of the interaction of physical processes and the environment on humans.
Materials: Power point, youtube, handouts, journals, youtube, pencils, white
construction paper, stickers,
Teaching Procedure: (introduction)
1. Motivation:
At the end of each section (country) use popsicle sticks to ask questions like this:
Pass out handouts, go through power point, students will get the answers from what
is said! Videos will happen as we move through the power point, then conclude each
day with a true false review.

Future Learning:
Wednesday: Tomorrow we will be learning about the rest of Indias neighbors (Sri
Lanka, & Bhutan.) and reviewing the similarities and differences between all 5
countries with each other and with India.
Wednesday and Thursday: This information is important because the Indian
Subcontinent plays a major role in technology industries which directly relate and
affect you (cell phones, many customer services are operated in this area). It is also
important because this region of the world Is home to many billions of people!
