60.32-069 - 1994 Pressure Transmitters
60.32-069 - 1994 Pressure Transmitters
GENERAL:
The pressure transmitter shall be of the direct electronic sensing type. The sensing
element shall be manufacturers standard. The diaphragm shall be hermetically
welded to the measuring element assembly which shall be suitable for operating
temperature limit -30 to 95 deg c, unless otherwise specified.
ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS:
The pressure transmitter shall be suitable for operation in industrial, humid, saliferous
and sulphur containing surrounding atmosphere. Unless otherwise specified, the
outdoor location class shall comply with the requirements of Class D2, of IEC 654-1.
BODY:
OVERRANGE:
MATERIALS:
All wetted parts, the diaphragm and body shall be as specified in the requisition/indent.
(C) For pressure transmitters of the differential body design, the blind body flange shall be
of AISI 316 type stainless steel, unless otherwise specified
(D)
Note: Cadmium and zinc plating (galvanizing) of these bolts and nuts is not permitted.
Enclosure;
The transmitter enclosure material shall be of low copper aluminium or stainless steel
as specified in the requisition/indent.

CONNECTIONS:
Process;
The process connection, with the exception of pressure transmitters of the differential
body design, shall be as specified in the requisition/indent.
For pressure transmitters of the differential body design, the process connection and
facing shall be compatible with din-19213, part 2,revision 1980 except for the
threading for the fixing bolts which shall be 7/16 in x 20 unf.
Orientation of the "process mounting side connection" of differential body design
pressure transmitters shall be such that facing the process connection side of the
transmitter, the "pressure" connection shall be on the right hand side.
"Opposite process mounting connection side" shall be blanked-off, tight to the rating of
the body, with blind oval (kidney) flanges. For the bolting arrangement, flange
thickness, gasket grooves and gasket for the kidney flanges refer MESC specification
609890.301
Electrical;
The electrical signal cable entry connection shall be as specified in the
requisition/indent.
Note: Transmitters which will have flying leads shall be provided with a junction box
for termination of these leads.
ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION:
The transmitter power supply voltage shall be 24 VDC, for 2 wire transmission system,
minimum power supply voltage 12.5 VDC.
The manufacturer should specify in his quotation the maximum allowable loop
resistance.
The transmitter output action shall be direct, unless otherwise specified. Direct or
reverse action signal output selection shall be available.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY:
ENCLOSURE:
ELECTRONICS:
ADJUSTMENTS:
Zero and span shall be non-interacting easy accessible and continuously adjustable,
zero externally.
The external adjustment(s) should be provided with an environmental protection cover.
PERFORMANCE:
With reference to IEC 770, errors are expressed as a percentage of the calibrated
span, unless otherwise specified.
(C) The transmitter accuracy including combined effect of lineairity, hysteresis and
repeatability shall be as specified.
Dead Band;
The dead band shall be equal to or better than 0.05%.
The total dynamic effect of the temperature including span and zero error;
At maximum span, shall be equal or less than +/-1.5%.
At minimum span, shall be equal or less than +/-4.5%, unless otherwise specified.
Measuring element range/span limits and calibrated range shall be as specified in the
requisition/indent.
MARKING:
Transmitter body parts including blind (oval) flanges shall be marked in accordance
with the relevant material standards. Castings shall have the charge or heat number
cast in the material.
Transmitters which shall fulfil the NACE standard MR-01-75 requirements (all wetted
parts) shall be marked accordingly.
IDENTIFICATION:
The transmitter shall be provided with an identification plate, with all data clearly and
deeply stamped on a corrosion-resistant plate permanently attached to the transmitter
by means of rivets or pins. The following information shall be provided as a minimum;
Notes:
Each transmitter shall be provided with a stainless steel tag plate which shall be fixed
with a stainless steel wire to the transmitter. This plate shall show the purchaser's tag
number as stated in the requisition/indent.
FACTORY TESTING:
Each transmitter shall be factory tested to meet the calibrated range requirements as
stated, calibration certificate shall be provided on purchasers request only. If the
calibrated range is not specified by the purchaser, the transmitter shall be calibrated at
the maximum pressure range.
FACTORY INSPECTION:
If specified in the purchase order the transmitter shall be inspected by the purchaser's
inspector before despatch. Unless otherwise specified, inspection by the purchaser
shall be restricted to the following:

CERTIFICATION:
In addition to the required "test and inspection documents" the manufacturer shall
supply a certificate stating that the transmitter complies in all respects with this MESC
description, the requisition/indent and the purchase order including the test
requirements, for the complete amount of transmitters per order.
