Module Learning Information

Module Aims:
This module aims to provide students with the knowledge and practical ability necessary to construct and maintain well-presented
websites with both static and dynamic content. It will introduce students to three of the major building blocks of the web: HTML,
CSS and JavaScript, and to tools and applications for working with them.

Module Learning Outcomes:


At the end of the module, students should be able to:
* write valid HTML pages containing a range of tag types appropriate to the content,
* understand how to use previously unseen HTML tags by reasoning about their properties,
* produce usable physical and structural designs for simple websites,
* write CSS stylesheets to cause the appearance of an HTML page to conform to specified designs,
* use software tools to diagnose errors in HTML and CSS and correct these errors manually,
* automate client-side validation of website form data using JavaScript,
* combine HTML with JavaScript to create web pages which react dynamically to user input.
