6.) As a side note, overheating may cause damage to electrical
components.
- Components such as transistors or capacitors can be easily
damaged while heated when soldering. To ensure best quality, use an
alligator clip to absorb excess heat.

9.) After done soldering, tip of solder should be cleaned with wet
sponge causing the soldering tip to become shiny.
10.) Unplug soldering iron after done with use.
Safety Precautions
- A soldering iron can heat to 400 C, which is enough to start a fire
- Solder contains lead, which is a poisonous metal. Be sure to wash your
hands after soldering
- Unplug soldering iron when not in use.
- Place soldering iron back to holder when done soldering
- Work in well ventilated areas

Tips
- Be sure to know what part is soldered and have a plan for execution
- Know how to place component on a printed circuit board, such as the
polarity and direction
- It is beneficial to have part placed into joint to ensure component
does not move
