NW Transitions

Transitions in the classroom involve using songs, phrases, or visual cues to signal to students it is time to change activities and clean up. In an Arabic class, the teacher sings a song to signal students to clean up after activities. In an English class, the teacher tells students to return to their seats and be quiet after circle time. During breaks, some students clean up after eating while others get away with not cleaning. Transitions help students by teaching discipline as they move between activities, and help teachers manage their time.
