The document provides instructions for students to code a shape with at least one 90 degree angle, draw it on grid paper, and optionally record their angles as right, smaller than right, or bigger than right. It also lists expectations for grade 3 students to estimate and measure using standard and non-standard units, identify and classify 2D shapes and 3D figures, compose and decompose shapes, and compare various angles.

Coding Angles

Code a shape with at least one 90 degree angle.

Draw your shape on grid paper.

Extension: Record your angles as right angles, smaller than right

angles or bigger than right angles.

Expectations:
Grade 3 Measurement -estimate and measure length, height, and distance, using
standard units (i.e., centimetre, metre) and non-standard units
Geometry and Spatial Sense -identify two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional
figures and sort and classify them by their geometric properties
- compose and decompose two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional figures
- compare various angles, using concrete materials and pictorial representations, and
describe angles as bigger than, smaller than, or about the same as other angles
