MINUTES OF THE FIRST ENGLISH PANEL MEETING

SMK BELURAN BESTARI, 2017.

Date: 03 February 2017 (Friday).

Venue: Staff room.

1. Welcoming Speech by the Head of English Panel.

1.1 Madam Rosminah welcomed all the English teachers especially the new
members of English panel. She also thanked them for their co-operation and
attendance.
Information to ELTs

2. Confirmation of the previous minutes.


2.1 Miss Evelyn proposed that the minutes of the Fourth English Panel Meeting
2016 to be passed. The proposal was seconded by Mr. Hafsham.

3. Panels Organisation.
3.1 The Head of English Panel Madam Rosminah Pelimin leads the members to
discuss the appointment of the new Assistant of Head English Panel and the
Secretary for this year.
3.2 The result of the discussion as stated in the table below:-

Information to ELTs

4. Post Mortem-PT3 for 2016.


4.1 The analysis for PT3 as stated in the handout given by Madam Rosminah.
In summary, there was an increment of the number of the passes students in
PT3 Oral Test 2016 and decrement of the passes students in PT3 Written Test
2016 that enhance the quality of PT3 result.

4.2 Therefore, all the teachers need to give the factors of the increment,
decrement and suggestion on how to increase the passes students in PT3 and
enhance the quality.

5. Monthly Test/ Examination Schedule.


5.1 The schedule for the teacher in-charge with the monthly test and examination
as stated in the handout distributed during the meeting. Teachers need to
follow the highlighted dateline.

6. Panels Programme.
6.1 The panel has decided to increase the passing students for PT3 and SPM this
year through several programmes:

Programmes Instructors
PT3 Exellent students Miss Mawar Mustika English range marks from
70 until 79.
PT3 Weak students Miss Jessica Sutha English range marks from
20 until 39.
PT3 Workshop Madam Rosminah A guest speaker (Sharing
SPM Workshop Miss Evelyn Taising from an experienced
teacher)

7. KBAT/21ST Century/HEBAT.
7.1 The English teachers are compulsory to implement i-THINK, HOTS, 21 ST
Century and HEBAT in class and their teaching. Teachers can start by
introducing the Reading Strategies from the HEBAT course and use the
modules provided.

7.2 The Head of English Panel urged all the English teachers to standardize the
daily lesson plan by using the differentiated English lesson plan template
prepared by Mr. Hafsham and use a white file this year.

8. Top-Down Observation.
8.1 All the teachers need to choose the suitable date for The Top-down
observation and fill in the observation schedule form with the head panel.

9. PBS/ULBS

9.1 Teachers need to run the PBS and fill in the offline PBS marksheet like last
year.

10. Other Matters.


7.2 Madam Rosminah reminds all the teachers to incorporate the I-THINK and
HOTS in English lesson.
7.3 Other than that, there was no more other matter to be discussed. The meeting
adjourned at 12.00 p.m.
