Beginning the Lesson
1. Introduction of the term:
i. “Does anyone of you know or heard the word addition before”
- Teacher will give a short definition of addition.
3 mins.
ii. “Addition is (your definition)”
ii. “Today, we are going learn how to add”
-Teacher will explain how to add using fingers

2. Video:
2 mins. - Teacher will play the video that shows how to add numbers from one to ten.

3. Flash Cards:
- Teacher will warm up the students by showing flash cards of numbers 1-10 or 1-
3 mins. 20 and will let the students identify the numbers

Developing the Lesson

1. Ball in the basket


10 - Teacher will group students in two.
mins. - Teacher will give each group of students a cup and 10 pieces of crumpled paper
- Students are to put the correct number of crumpled pieces of paper to the cup to the
question given and whoever gets an answer raises their hand and they have to wait until
the teacher goes to them to check if its correct
-If you are correct, you get a star on your star sheet

Closing the Lesson

1. Worksheet:
- Teachers will ask one student to distribute pencils
2 mins
- Teachers will explain the worksheet and distribute one worksheet for every
student
- Students start while teacher walks around
