9.12 PRESENTATION OF CALCULATIONS AL Format 1. Al structural dasign caloulations shall be presented in a professional manner. Calculations shall be grouped in accordance with the subject to which thoy pertain, such as roof design, floor design, foundation design, earthquake analyses, etc. Each group of calculations shall be preceded by 2 cover sheet which contains the following information: a) Name of Company, or Organization (AJE) submitting the calculations. b) Contract Title and Number. ©) Subject. d) Name and signature of designer and design date. ©) Name and signature of checker and checking date. f) Name ofthe structural supervisor, his signature and date of approval. 9) _Listof references used such 2s codes, standards, textbook, etc. hh) Index, which shall itemize all major parts of the design. Calculations shall be prepared in SI units, except when calculations are made in compliance with a code, or using a computer program which has not yet been metricated, the conventional units may be used but the end resuts stall be converted to metric units. B. Content ‘The calculations sheets shall contain or present the following infomation: a) Basis of Design 1) The basis of design shall include a comprehensive statement on concept development and specific criteria used in the structural dosign of the Projoct. b) —Listofalldesian parameters and assumptions used. ©) List of all information used in the calculations with proper referencing here it was taken (e.9., Soll bearing capacity = 100 kPa, see foundation ‘and subsurface investigation roport by dated page __). Anytime a previously calculated value is used in another set of calculations, it shall be referenced with page number of where previously mede. Designer shal indude sketches as necessary and highlight all conclusive caloulation results so that the checker or third party who is not familiar with the subject can follow i without any question. \Each calculation sheet shall include the following information, in addition to the above mentioned items: a) b) 9 a Designers initial. Subject Calculation No. SheetNo.___of___. ©. Computer Program 1 |W structural design software are used, the calculations shall indude the folowing: a) by 9 a e) 3) Description of the software used in the analysis. Explanation of any non-standard vocabulary used in the software. Idealization of the structure or a brief explanation on how the structure is, mathematically modeled. ‘Medel showing the node, members and element numb ering and loads for each load cases. Input fils and load analysis showing how the joint, member and element loads are cakculated, Output summary showing the member forces, joint displacements, ard support reactions. If necessary, the governing forces and stresses shall be identified in the output data. Design conclusion or the summary of adopted design results (2.9., in a reinforced rectangular concrete beam design, the width and depth of the section, size and number of longitudinal reinforcing bars, size ard spacing of stirups). \Non-industry standard or in-house computer programs shail be provided with a validation check wherein a sample caicuiation is made to verify the accuracy of the results of the computer program.
