Notice

The Rod Dryer TK-8 is designed to evaporate solvent mixture


adhered on CHROMARODs to be exclusively used for the
IATROSCAN MK 6 in Order to ensure efficient detections.

The Dryer provides an air blower for a rapid and exellent drying
and a filter contained activated carbon crushes eliminated
contamination may affect to Chromatographical data.

Installation

1. Make certain the Power Switch is in the "OFF" Position.

2. Connect the Power Cable (AC 220 V) to the AC inlet socket


on the Rod Dryer and the other end to a 3 prong grounded
electrical outlet.

NOTE

Check the voltage marked on the nameplate located on


the rear power distribution soket. If line voltage differs
from the voltage specified, it will cause damage and mal-
functions
of the Equipment. Refer to SES GmbH / Analytical
Systems / Germany, Phone: +49 6736 1301 if changes
are required

3. DO NOT TAKE power from a service outlet of another


Equipment.

4. DO NOT TAKE power from the same outlet that requires


a large current flow for other Equipment.

! W A R N I N G: !
Plug the Power Cable only into a properly
grounded 3-wire elecirical outlet.

Operation
1. Turn on the Power Switch to "ON" Position.

2. Push the Serect Switch to turn on "SET MODE" lamp.

3. Turn the Temperature Control Knob to the temperature


to be applied

4. Push the Serect Switch to turn on "HEAT MODE" lamp.


When the temperature indicator points the temperature
to be applied, please used the dryer.

5. After Rod development has been complated, place the Rod


as set in the Rod Holder into the Dryer.
In this case,the prior evaporation of the solvent adhered
on the bottom part of the Rod Holder by hand dryer, etc,
will make sure the solvent removal on the CHROMAROD.

! CAUTION !
Care must be taken into the ground wire securely connected.

Make distance more than 5 cm from the wall where the


Dryer has been mounted.
Do not place any article on top of the Dryer

6. The solvent can be evaporated within a few minutes.

7. After the solvents are complately removed, remove the


Rod Holder from the Dryer

! WARNING !
The Rod Dryer is typically very hot when operated handle
the Rod Holder with proper hand protector. No touch
of your finger to the Equipment, Door or Exhaust Vent.

8. Set the Rod Holder in the Scanning Frame and then start
the scan.

Maintenace Service
How to replace activated carbon crushes contained in the
Air FiIter.

! CAUTION !
Before maintanance service to be takeed, disconnect
Power Cable Connector (AC 220V)

1. Remove each two screws seated on top, side and rear of


the Cabinet. Remove the Housing Case.

2. Remove a screw on a flat and L shape plate fastened the


Filter Bottle to remove.

3. Remove top lid on the Filter Bottle and replace activated


carbon crushes (Kishida Chemical, 4-8 meshes).
