Purpose: To inform educators on the use of Class Dojo and other


tech tools for effective parent-teacher communication.

Hanging projection screen at the front of the lab

Objectives:

1. Introduce educators to the merits of Class Dojo


2. Help educators develop Class Dojo communication
3. Explain process for parent accounts

Activities and Workshop Outside Assignment:


1. Instructor will project benefits of Class Dojo communication while
she discusses topic 15 minutes
2. Step-by-step completion of a Class Dojo communication with
student participation 15 minutes
3. Outside Assignment: Set up individual classrooms in Class Dojo
and invite parents to join

Workshop Evaluation:

Activity description
I will introduce educators to the merits of Class Dojo with a
demonstration displaying major topics of interest. 10 minutes
The demonstration will consists of screenshots and instructions to
guide educators through the account set up process and how to use
various aspects of Class Dojo.
Participants will have a chance to ask questions during the
presentation. 2-5 minutes
I will then show teachers how to set up a Class Dojo account while
they complete the assignment on their individual computers.10

I will explain the process of creating parent accounts and will
demonstrate how to do so. 5 minutes

Extension idea(s)
Participants will set up various Class DOjo accounts for each class that
they teach.

Allow extra time between objectives for question and answer sessions.
