Navigator Installation Guide
Introduction
Welcome to the Navigator 1.5 Installation Guide. This guide contains reference information, advice
and suggestions to help you install new versions of Navigator 1.5 applications.
Note: Integrator 1.5 no longer has its own installer. Integrator 1.5 is now part of the Navigator
1.5 installer. This means when you install a Navigator 1.5 instance, you will automatically
install its Integrator 1.5 instance. The Integrator application folder will be located in the
Navigator application folder (e.g. C:\navigator\integrator).
Prerequisites
It is assumed that you have some knowledge of installing Pages applications and are able to
connect to and use local and networked disk drives in your organization.
To install Navigator instances, you will require write access to the network drive you choose to
install your Navigator application(s). End users should have read access to the network drive(s).
Installation of Navigator 1.5 can be performed by running the NavigatorSetup.exe from the
distribution media. That media may be a CD, DVD, USB Key, External Hard Disk Drive or simply
downloading the file downloaded from iflybombardier.com.
Note: You are NOT required to have administrator rights on your local computer to install the
Navigator application. The application does NOT write any of its settings to the Pages registry.
When you can load the CD distribution media into your CD drive (e.g. D:\), the CD will automatically
launch the navigator_readme.html file. This readme file contains a Click here to install link
under the Install Navigator heading that will allow the user to run the NavigatorSetup.exe by
clicking on the link.
- 10 -
Navigator Installation Guide
Or, if you choose not to use the readme file, you can open your Windows Explorer application, go
into your CD drive (e.g. D:\) and double-click on the NavigatorSetup.exe to launch the executable
and begin the installation process.
Users can choose to install the Navigator application only to and install the application for the first
time on a computer with no existing Navigator application(s) installed.
The first page you see is the Select Setup Language page. In this page, you are asked to Select
the language to use during the installation. Most users select English as the language of choice.
Click the Next button to continue.

the computer. To continue the installation, select the Continue to install a new instance of the
application item and then click on the Next button.
This is the Browse to Alternate Collection Locations page, which normally appears after the List
of Integrator Application(s) page in this type of installation. This page allows you to browse to
other Navigator collection locations. The Enable browsing to alternate collection locations box is

effectivity file for the purpose of effectivity filtering. By default, the effectivity file will be called

Note: Integrator 1.5 no longer has its own uninstaller. Integrator 1.5 is now part of the
Navigator 1.5 uninstaller. This means when you uninstall a Navigator 1.5 instance, you will
automatically uninstall its Integrator 1.5 instance. The Integrator folder in the Start Menu does
not have an Uninstall Bombardier Integrator entry.
During the uninstall process, if the user forgets to close the Navigator application of the instance
that is currently being uninstalled, then some files in the Navigator application folder will not be
removed once the uninstall process is complete. The user can manually remove these files and
delete the Navigator application folder.
Before uninstalling, please make sure your Navigator application of the instance you are going to
uninstall has been closed. This allows the Uninstaller to perform a clean and complete uninstall of
the entire Navigator application.
Go into your Start Menu. Under Programs, select the Bombardier Navigator folder. In your
Bombardier Navigator folder, select Uninstall Bombardier Navigator.

Navigator will run the Uninstall process to begin uninstalling Navigator 1.5 from your computer. The
Uninstall status will display Please wait while Bombardier Navigator is removed from your
computer while it is uninstalling the application. At this point, you cannot stop the uninstall
process.
