Automatic Result Teller System
Automatic Result Teller System
ABSTRACT
Currently, in all Educational Institutes, each semester results are displayed on Notice
Boards of their respective departments. But our system will save this manual work of exam
departments and students can check out their results via telephone.
Student can find quick answers to basic information about College or Institutes and avoid
long hold times while they need to come to College or Institutes.
In this system student will have to call on a given number through which they will get
necessary information such as Result, Merit Number and College information (at the time of
Admission in the College). That means it will be very easy to use.
This system will make staff stress free by reducing the paper work at the time declaring
Result of the student. Administrator will have whole command on this system. Once the system
is started then there will be no need for the administrator to control it becomes fully automatic.
Due to this system man power will be reduced.

1. INTRODUCTION
Today the world has reached an era where everything is available on the
telephonic devices due to the great research in Communication and Computer Technologies.
They have also drastically reduced the time consumption as it is said Time is Money.
Student can find quick answers to basic information about College or Institutes
and avoid long hold times while they need to come to College or Institutes.
Our ARTS solutions will be integrated into your overall contact centre
environment allowing you to access data from back-office systems to personalize interactions
and fulfill specific inquiries. Likewise, if students need to have their result on their respective
Mobile phones then they can use SMS service which will also be provided by us.
In this system student will have need to call on a given number through which
they will get necessary information such as Result, Merit Number (at the time of Admission in
the College) and College information. That means it will be very easy to use.

2. Literature survey
This literature survey extracts information from some of the literature available on
thissubject. It does not claim to be complete nor does it take a position towards the
opinions expressed in these report.
This system will make staff stress free by reducing the paper work at the time
declaring Result of the student. Administrator will have whole command on this system. Once
the system is started then there will be no need for the administrator to control it becomes fully
automatic. Due to this system man power will be reduced.
There are a few systems whichhave made available the facility of providing
results online such as the Reliance, MSBTE, etc. result of SSC (Secondary School Certificate),
HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate),Graduation and other international level exams such as
TOFFLE, GRE, CAT, GATE, etc. are provided online i.e. through web.
Else wise these systems are for state level, national and International level Exams.
There is no such system at institutional level. Due to this the present institutional result provision
process is slower and lengthy.

3. Automatic Result Teller System
In this system student will have need to call on a given number through which
they will get the details about result and other necessary information.
This system will make examination department staff stress-free while disclosing
the student results, by reducing the paper work. Administrator will have complete control on this
system but, once the system started for students, there will no need for the administrator to
control it will become fully automatic at that point. Due to this system, man power will reduced.
3.2.Scope :
This system will be useful in many Institutes, which will minimize the paper-work
for the exam department. With help of this system students will be able to hear their results 24x7
from anywhere.
It will also reduce the work load, stress and paper work of the Exam Department
of Institute while declaration of the result.
In this system, student will have to call on a given number through which they
will get the details about result and other necessary information.
This system will make examination department staff stress-free while disclosing
the student results, by reducing the paper work.
3.4. Methodology:
5
3.4.1Process Model (Waterfall Model)
For developing our project we will use the Waterfall Model, which consists of
following phases such as:
1. Requirements
2. Design
3. Implementation5
4. Verification
5. Maintenance
1. Requirements
6
In this phase of development we will analyze and gather the requirements about
our project, and consider all functional and non-functional requirements for the system. We
also gather information about the current result system in institutional level.
2. Design
After analyzing the requirements we will be able to design a methodology of our
system and Think on the functional areas of the software about what are the functionalities
that can be provided by our system, who will be the benefited users of the systems and so on.
3. Implementation
This phase of software development includes actual coding of the software. All
the functionalities that were design will be implemented in coding.
4. Verification
Testing of the software is done in this phase of the waterfall model.
5. Maintenance
The final stage of waterfall model is Maintenance in which the quality of the
software is examined and the final product is delivered to the customers.
As we will be doing each step only once in the development we dont require any
iterative models like spiral model and all.
As we are having 7-8 months to develop the complete product and we are the
group of only 5 people so we cannot divide it into teams and implement RAD model for
developing this product.
Therefore, Waterfall model seems to be the perfect model for developing the
Automated Result Teller System (ARTS).
3.5. Analysis
Automatic Result Teller System(ARTS) will be a solution for the Educational
Institutes which want to enable students to access Result, Merit Number and College Information
in a user friendly manner over the phone.
7
Waterfall model was used for the software development life cycle so as to effectively
design and develop a cost-effective model.
Feasibility Study
The very first phase in any system developing life cycle is preliminary investigation. In the
preliminary investigations we examine the project feasibility, the likelihood of the system being
useful to automate security systems.
Operational Feasibility
It was decided that the proposed project could be created as a Windows -based application
system that will meet the operating environment of various people in terms of security related
activities. The reasons for this conclusion are:
Technical Feasibility
It was decided that the project was technically feasible because of the following:
Economic Feasibility

Some financial and economic questions raised were:
1. P4,2.2MHz
2. Hard Disk 20 GB
3. 256 Mb RAM
4. Motherboard with PCI Slots 845 or 65GvHz

A Gantt chart is a type of bar chart that illustrates a project schedule. Gantt charts
illustrate the start and finish dates of the terminal elements and summary elements of a project.
Gantt charts have become a common technique for representing the phases and activities
of a project work breakdown structure (WBS), so they can be understood by a wide audience all
over the world.
Gantt Chart shows the work completed and further implementation of the project in the
next semester.
