SCR - Calculation of Accentric Fator by Various Methods

This document presents three methods for calculating the acentric factor (ω) for compounds: 1) The Lee-Kesler method uses the critical pressure and temperature with an error of +/- 7%. 2) The CSGC-Edmister equation also has an error of +/- 7% and uses the reduced boiling point and critical pressure. 3) Pitzer's method calculates a temperature based on critical values, finds vapor pressure at that temperature, and uses it to determine ω with an estimated error. All three methods should not be used for polar substances near critical points, as nonpolar compounds may solidify between 0.3Tc to 0.55Tc.
