Cara-caranya…
• Step 1 : Open WinZip.

• Step 2 : Click on the New icon. A window will open displaying the folders
on your disk.

• Step 3 : Move through the folders until you locate the folder where you
want to store your compressed file.

• Step 4 : WinZip creates a file called an "archive." Name your archive.

• Step 5 : Click Save. You will be returned to the WinZip main window.

• Step 6 : You must now add a file to the archive that you have just created.
Click on Add. A window will open displaying the files and folders on your
disk.

• Step 7 : Move through the folders until you locate the file that you
want to compress. Select that file.

• Step 8 : In the compression menu, select the level of compression


that you want. The choices may include Normal, None, Fast,
Superfast and Maximum.

• Step 9 : Add an optional password, if desired.

• Step 10 : Click Add. You will return to the main WinZip menu.

• Step 11 : Your compressed file is now added to the archive.

• Step 12 : Close WinZip.

• Open WinZip and click on "New".

• Choose the directory on your computer where you want to
create the new zip file. Remember which directory the zip
file is in so you can find it later.

• Type in the new file name and click "OK“.

• A new screen will appear. Choose (highlight) the file(s) to
include in the zip file.

• Click "Add".

• Your screen now shows which file have been added to the
new zip file.

• If you want to add another file, click on "Add" at the top of
the screen and repeat the steps above.

• Close the new zip file and exit WinZip.

Cara-caranya…
• Step 1 : Click on your "Start" button. Open "All Programs" and
find Winrar in your program list. Click on the shortcut on the
submenu named Winrar. This will open the program and ready it
for use.

• Step 2 : Click "Close" on the box that pops up alerting you that
this is not freeware so that you can use the program. Once this
window is gone, a list will generate inside the frame of your
program window. This is a list of all possible files that you can
open in this session. If you do not see the file you are looking for,
go to the top-left corner of the screen and click on "File." In this
submenu, click on "Open Archive." Now you can navigate to the
file you wish to open. Click "Open" in the box once you have
located your file.

• Step 3 : Double-click on the file that you wish to unrar
inside the white portion of the window box that is open for
Winrar. This opens the file so that all of the rar files inside
the mother file are opened. Now you can choose the file
you wish to open further from this section of available files.
Once you find the file you want, again double-click on it to
open.

• Step 4 : A new window will pop up that says "Extracting


From OS.7z"; this is the Winrar file type. You will see two
bars, one for the amount of the file extracted and one for
the amount of the file that has been processed onto your
hard drive. If you want to pause this extraction, simply hit
the "Pause" button on the bottom-right corner of the box.

• Step 5 : Find the .exe file on the screen. This is the executable
file or the file extension that begins the process of opening
your file. Click on the .exe file, and this will set the program or
file in motion. You have just used Winrar to unrar a rar file.

• Select the files you are interested in and do a Right Click on
any of the selected files, then choose “Add to archive…”.

• WinRAR will open up a new window. There are many settings
and configuration that one can work with in this window.

Info umum
• General Tab:
• 1.) Archive name: specify a name for your archive and make sure to include the
extension (.ZIP or .RAR)
• a.) ZIP Extension: if you want your archive to be compressed as a ZIP file.
• Note: Can be opened with both WinRAR and WinZip applications.
• b.) RAR Extension: if you want your archive to be compressed as a RAR file.
• Note: Can only be opened with WinRAR, cannot be opened with WinZip.
• 2.) Compression Mode: always choose “Normal”
• 3.) Split method: for now leave it blank.
• 4.) Update mode: Add and replace files.
• 5.) Archiving options: do not select anything.
• Advanced Tab:
• 1.) Set Password: enter a password if you would like your archive to be password
protected.
• Note: always remember your password; if you forget it there is no way to unzip
your archive.

• When you are ready to zip your files, click “OK”. WinRAR will
now compress you files.

Note: WinRAR will save the archive, by default to the same directory as the files you
are compressing

Cara-caranya…
• Step 1 : Cari fail/folder yang hendak dikompres.

• Step 2 : Right Click.

• Step 3 : Halakan mouse ke 7-zip. Sub menu akan terpapar.

• Step 4 : Pilih “Add to Archive…” & klik. Satu window baru akan
terpapar.

• Step 5 : Cari Archive Format, pada drop down menu, pilih


format “Zip”.

• Step 6 : Klik OK.

NOTA PENTING!
• Biasanya, fail yang kita kompreskan (Zip) itu
akan diletakkan di folder yang sama dengan
fail asal.
• Contohnya: Jika fail email.doc ada di dalam
folder My Documents, maka fail email.zip
akan berada di dalam folder My Documents
juga.
