Renaissance Performance Task
Renaissance Performance Task
Goal: Students will demonstrate mastery of one major aspect of the European Renaissance through
their collaborative work on a performance task as well as their individual reflection.
Instructions:
1. You will be assigned a group to work with on this project.
2. Create a group name and answer the questions about group norms. These will be your guidelines for
working together as a group.
3. In your group, decide on a topic. If you have trouble deciding, please ask for guidance from Ms.
Carney or Ms. Vecsi.
4. After you have chosen a topic, choose a medium with which you will demonstrate knowledge of your
topic.
5. Begin working as a group on initial research on your topic and making a plan of action for how to
proceed on the project.
Media:
Students will create ONE of the following, in their group:
1. a PowerPoint presentation (6-8 minutes)
2. a short essay (3 pages, double spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins)
3. a play or skit (presented for 6-8 minutes)
4. A video (sound quality MUST be good enough so that dialogue is audible!!) (6-8 minutes)
Individual Reflection:
In addition to the group project listed above, each student will complete a 350-word minimum (400-
word maximum) reflection on your work on this project. In your reflection, I would like to see you
answer the following questions:
1. What did you do well on this project?
2. What could you have done better?
3. How well did the other members of the group contribute to the final product?
4. What do you think the other members of the group will say about what its like to work with you?
