    Dear Presiding Justice Raye:

    On behalf of appellant Susan Ferris, we write to inquire about the status of the
    above referenced appeal, which has been fully briefed since December 11, 2013.

    The appeal raises an asserted constitutional right to counsel in cases involving


    child custody. To state the obvious, the child whose custody is the subject of this
    appeal has been growing older as the case has worked its way through the judicial
    system.

    We urge the Court to set the appeal for oral argument sooner rather than later.
