1 (31.75mm) Arbor
AT965-0-00-1040
The RX7 offers a series of 1 (31.75mm) diameter wheel arbors of varying length. Each
length wheel arbor comes complete with a set of wheel spacers. The wheel spindle has an ISO
30 spindle nose with a male thread. The wheel arbors are held in place on the spindle nose by
a spindle lock nut.
Each wheel arbor also comes standard with a wheel nut and washer. The wheel nut has all the
features required for use with ANCA iBalance.
There are a wide range of additional wheel spacer widths to available to suit a wide variety of
wheel arbor configurations.
AT965-0-00-1085
The RX7 offers a 20mm diameter wheel. The wheel arbor comes complete with a set of wheel
spacers. The wheel spindle has an ISO 30 spindle nose with a male thread.
The wheel arbor also comes standard with a wheel nut and washer. The wheel nut has all the
features required for use with ANCA iBalance.
There are a wide range of additional wheel spacer widths available to suit a wide variety of
wheel arbor configurations.
Coolant Manifold
930-0-63-1025
These coolant manifolds are the standard type fitted to the machine. They are ported with
threaded outlet holes for attaching a variety of coolant pipe configurations such as rigid copper
pipe or flexible plastic adjustable nozzles. Additional coolant manifolds will allow wheel packs
and coolant pipes to be configured as a set and stored off the machine for quick and easy fitting
when required.

ANCA also supply a NANN guided collet adaptor system. This collet system offers more features
to ensure a higher degree of accuracy. The collet adaptor has 4 adjusting screws that can be
used to jack the collet adaptor off the face of the spindle nose to reduce runout of the tool.
The internal design of the NANN collet adaptor eliminates any influence on tool run out caused
by the pull stud and claw during actuation.
There are 4 different NANN collet adaptor systems available covering a tool range from 2mm to
36mm. The break down is as follows:
The ANCA MACS collet system is the most accurate of all collet clamping systems supplied by
ANCA. It has the ability to be manually adjusted to eliminate both axial and radial run out of
the tool. The internal design of the MACS eliminates any influence on tool run out caused by
the pull stud and claw during actuation. The MACS systems will maintain consistent precision
better then 3 micron over a batch of tools in either manual or automatic tool loading mode of
operation.
The MACS system uses High Precision NANN collets. There are 3 different MACS systems
available covering a tool range from 2mm to 27mm. The break down is as follows: -
Because of the additional adjusting features of the MACS it can take longer to set up than the
other collet systems.

Steady Bed
The Popup Steady gives additional support to the tool during certain grinding operations such
as fluting or end face work. The steady is pneumatically operated and is commanded up or
down using M codes. The steady when fitted is actuated automatically during a tool program.
Alternatively it can be commanded using NC entry at any point within the program. The popup
steady assembly does not include the Steady bed.
ANCA have several steady shoe options for use with the Popup Steady.
The V-block Clamp and Steady is a complete tool guidance and support system for precision tool
manufacture. As the name suggests the unit consists of 2 distinct items V-block Clamp and Steady
each with separate functionality.
The V-block clamp uses an overhead clamp finger to hold the shank of the tool in a V shaped support.
This rigid support guides the shank of the tool using the V-block principle, reducing runout usually present
when just using a collet.
The Steady is the perfect complement to the V-block clamp offering additional support to the tool.
To assist in setting up the V-block Clamp and Steady, both units are equipped with fine adjusting
mechanisms ensuring complete degrees of freedom and accuracy.
When setup correctly the Precision V-block Clamp and Steady System will achieve a consistent tool runout
of less then 0.004mm (measured at 50mm from collet nose) in either manual or automatic loading.
To complement the V-block clamp and steady a specially designed collet adaptor is used that provides the
necessary clearance to ensure optimum grinding freedom. The collet adaptor uses Schaublin W80-4 ultra
precision flat nose collets.
There are 6 steady shoes available to cover the range form 1mm to 16mm.
Care should be taken when ordering this accessory as due to the length of the steady bed
and protruding section of the tailstock it can in some grinding applications collide with the
machine column.

The iView camera is not fitted in the machine during the grinding process. A precision camera
mount block located in the machine means quick and repeatable camera positioning when tool
measurement is required.
There are 2 camera magnification options available, 100x and 300x magnification. The
difference between the 2 cameras is the viewable area and measured accuracy.
Where iView is required to be used over several ANCA tool grinders, only one camera is
required. The iView camera is totally compatible over all ANCA X class grinding machines and
therefore can be shared between them.

The fire protection system incorporates an industrial fixed aerosol fire suppression canister,
control panel, heat detector, break glass switch and fittings.
The system uses Pyrogen self-generated aerosol fire extinguishing agent. The aerosol is
generated from a solid chemical which is electrically or thermally ignited. This produces
combustion products that are mixed into an aerosol and cooled to ensure flameless discharge
and uniform distribution into the fire area. As the aerosol is self generated, no pressure
cylinders or piping is required. The system is automatically triggered via a thermal detector or
may be operated via a break glass switch.
The wheel and coolant setup rig is a work bench mounted fixture used for setting up wheel and
coolant pipes off the machine. The Wheels and coolant manifold is mounted on the fixture in
the same position as they would be if on the machine. The operator can prepare the wheel
pack and adjust coolant pipes ready to fit directly onto the machine.
The PLX is suitable for loading tools from 1mm to 26mm and up to 250mm in length. An
example of the capacity range is, 154 tools for 16mm, 1242 tools for a 1mm tool.
As the name suggests the PLX uses a pallet to store the tools in the loading cell. Two pallets
are required for each tool size, 1 pallet for the tool blanks and another for the finished tool.
These pallets are referred to as the pickup and store pallets.
Specification

Pallets for the PLX are ordered in Sets. A pallets set contains 2 pallets (a store and a pickup
pallet). Sizes and part numbers for standard pallet sets are listed below.

PLX Grippers
The PLX requires 3 different sets of grippers to get the tool from the Pallet into the work
holding in the machine. The 3 grippers sets are as follows: -
Note: Dim D is the width of the gripping area of the gripper. Ref images on page 19.
Transfer (D) Gripper Set
As well as being able to load straight shank tools the PLX loader can also be adapted to load
Nikken KM20 Collets. This Kit along with the Loadermate software gives the machine the
capability of manufacturing a variety of different type and size tools in 1 pallet setup.
The KM20 Tooling Kit contains all the parts required to load Nikken KM20 Collets. It includes 1
pallet set and all grippers.
Specification
The CLX is basically a simple swing down arm with a set of gripper fingers attached to the
end of it. Once the loader arm swings down into position it remains stationary. Movement of
the machine axes completes the load and unload sequences by bringing the headstock and
pallet to meet the stationary gripper fingers. Other then the arm dropping down, the CLX
has no independent axes of its own. By making use of the machine movements has greatlt
simplfied the CLX and has resulted in a very low cost automation option.
Designed to meet strict space and budget specifications, the CLX is fully-contained within
the existing machine canopy and therefore does not increase the footprint of the machine as
many other loaders can do
The CLX only requires one set of grippers as the tool is picked up from the pallet and loaded
into the work holding by the same set of grippers. Two gripper ranges are currently available
Pallets
The CLX can also be confirgured to load inserts. Due to the numerous possibilities of insert
types, each applications tooling requirement needs to be assessed individually and the loader
tailor to suit.
