Band Combinations

This document provides information on Landsat 5 and Landsat 7 sensors and their spectral bands and resolutions. It also lists different land cover types and the optimal spectral band combinations for identifying each type in images from these sensors. Water, urban, farmland and forest features are best identified using bands 1, 2, 3 and bands 1, 4, 5 with contrast manipulation on band 4. Salt scald, scrub and irrigated vegetation also use band combinations involving bands 1, 2, 3 and bands 1, 4, 5.
