SOP X-Ring Pro Introduction - Configuration

The document describes how to configure different types of X-Ring Pro network topologies: 1) Basic Ring topology connects switches in a ring with the same Ring ID. 2) Coupling-Ring connects multiple rings for redundancy, treating them as partitions with the same or different Ring IDs. 3) Dual-Homing connects an X-Ring Pro network to a third-party switch running STP/RSTP. 4) Dual-Ring connects two adjacent rings that share a switch, ideal for networks with cabling difficulties. The shared switch assigns different Ring IDs to its ports in each ring.

How to configure X-Ring Pro

Network Protocol
X-Ring Pro Configuration
X-Ring Pro Configuration Example:
Basic Ring
Enable X-Ring Pro function and assign two X-Ring member ports in the
ring group.
The Ring ID within the same X-Ring Pro group switch MUST be identical.

X-Ring Pro Configuration Example:
Dual-Homing
Handle connections between Advantech (X-Ring Pro) and Third-Party Switch(Standard
STP/RSTP) running in different redundant protocols.
Maximizing the flexibility between Advantech and any third-party switches
