    1. Language

    Agroupofwordsorideashavingcommonmeaningandissharedtoasocialsituationiscalledlanguage.Languageistheentrancetoa
    culture.Languageisasetofsociallysoundpattern,words,andsentenceshavingspecificmeaningandterminologycommontothe
    sameculture.

    Languageisasourceofcommunicationandtotransmitmessagefromonepersontoanother.Itisthemethodtomoldthebehaviorand
    experienceofaperson.Languagediffersfromculturetocultureandistransmittedfromonegenerationtoanother.

    Languageislikeavehiclethroughwhichwecancarryoutourcomplexsocialactivities.Languageisthefoundationofacultureandticket
    totheentranceofasociallife.Animalhavenotculturebecausetheyhavenospecificlanguagetotransmitworldstoothers.So,language
    isthekeytoopenasociallifeofanindividualwithsomespecialcharacteristics.

    2. Symbols

    Cultureisasystemofsymbols.Symbolsareanythingusedtorepresentexpressandstandforaneventsituation.Symbolsdirectto
    guideourbehavior.Itisusedtoshowaneventofpast,presentorfuture.Forexampletheheapofashshowthatthesomethinghasbeen
    burntorthewetstreetshowsthatithasrained.

    Bowinghead,whistling,winklingofeyessituation,allarethesymbols,whichexpressaspecificobjectideaaboutother.BaithUllahisthe
    symbolofGodandwepraytoit.AmericanShaketheirhandtoanswerforNo.Otherexamplesareflag,anthem,picture,statuesare
    symbols.Symbolsaretheshortexpressionfortheidentificationofanobjectorsituation.

    Normsaselementsofculturearetherulesandtheguidelineswhichspecifythebehaviorofanindividual.Normskeepapersonwithinthe
    boundaryofsocietyanditsculture.Itgivesusrestrictionaboutsomethingwhichtodoandwhichnottodo.Itmoldsourbehaviorand
    givesasknowledgeaboutwrongandright.Normscanbedividedinto:

    a.Folkways.Folkwaysarethesimplecustomarywaysofthepeople.Itisthenormalandhabitualactionofpeoplewithina
    culture.Folkwaysaretherecognizedoracceptedwaysofbehavior.Thesearethebehaviorpatternwhichapersonusegenerallyin
    hisdailylife.

    b.Mores.MoresisaLatinwordandthepluralofmoswhichmeanscustomsorbeliefsaccordancewithagroupcustomary
    expectation.Itisthemustbehaviorofaperson.Moresreferstowhatoughttobeandwhatoughtnottobe.Moresareserious
    normsbutareinformedlikefolkways.Theyhaveaseriousbindingonagrouptheviolationofmoresthreatstosocialorder.
    Punishmentmaybebothformalandinformalfortheviolationofmores.

    4. Values

    Anythinggettingimportanceinourdailylifebecomesourvalues.Theoriginofvaluesisnotbiologicalbutitissocialproductionwhile
    livinginsocietythevaluesdevelop.Valuesdependupontheculture.Culturevariesfromsocietytosocietyandthusvaluesaredifferent
    ineverysocialsituation.Valuesarewhatwelikeandwhatwesaywillinoursocietyvaluesarethegoodideaandthinkingofaperson.

    Somevaluesarehereditarywhichwegainfromourelders,booksandparents.Thecultureisfullofvaluesandcantransmitfromone
    generationtoanother.Whenanaturalobjectgetameaningitbecomesavalue.

    5. Beliefs

    Everysectwithinaculturehavingsomebeliefsforculturalrefuge.Thesebeliefsareresponsiblefrothespiritualfulfillmentofneedsand
    wants.MuslimsbelieveinGod,HollyProphet,TheDayofJudgment,recitationofHollyQuran,Hajjetc.

    Sikhwearbangleinonehand,bearalongbeard,keepingadagger.CrossforChristiansandanecklaceoracottonthreadaroundnick,
    thewaterofgangaandaresacredforHindus.

    6. Cognitive Elements

    Cognitiveelementsofculturearethosethoughwhichanindividualknowhowtocopewithanexistingsocialsituation.Howtosurvive,
    howmakeshelterfromstormsandothernaturalcalamities,howtotravelandtransportetc.arethepracticalknowledgewhichmakea
    culture.Suchknowledgeiscarefullythoughttoeverygeneration.
