Joyce Epsteins framework of six types of involvement is a resource I would
recommend any parent, especially preschool, to read. I would encourage this
because often times parents do not realize that being involved in their childs school
and education can be beneficial to the child. This framework explains the types of
involvement, how the parent can practice, challenges, results for parents, students
and teachers.

Play and Child Development is a book that I used early on in my career as an
educator. I frequently refer back to it because it is very informative by way of the
importance of play and how children learn and develop through play. Many families
do not understand the value of play and how the child learns social, language, and
cognitive skills by playing with other children. This book reveals the importance of
play and I recommend this book for any family. The age group that this resource
applies to is early childhood.
