Types of Boiler

Fire tube and water tube boilers are the two main types of boilers. Fire tube boilers heat water in a vessel by passing hot gases from a furnace through tubes surrounded by water. Water tube boilers contain a bundle of tubes filled with water and heated externally by hot gases from a furnace. Water tube boilers are more efficient as they have a larger heating surface area and allow water to circulate faster than fire tube boilers. However, water tube boilers are more expensive and difficult to transport and construct than fire tube boilers due to their size.
