Ceramic capacitors are made by coating a ceramic disc with metal on two sides to create plates, attaching wire leads, and coating the unit in plastic marked with its capacitance value. They are versatile with working voltages from 3V to 6000V, capacitances from 3μF to 2μF, and low leakage currents of 1000MΩ.

Ceramic capacitors
1. A ceramic disc is coated on two sides with a metal,
such as copper or silver. 2. These coatings act as the 2 plates. 3. During the manufacture of capacitor, tinned wire leads are also attached to each plate. 4. Then the entire unit is coasted with plastic & marked with its capacitance value either using numbers or a color code. 5. Ceramic capacitors are very versatile.
Specifications- 1. Their working voltage ranges from 3V up to 6000V 2. The capacitance ranges from 3F to about 2F 3. Low leakage currents-1000M
