LABORATORY SAFETY RULES

1. No horseplay! -
2. Equipment is not to be operated without permission if in doubt, ask.

3. While working with machinery and test benches:


a. Safety glasses shall be wom (Hydraulic bench only
b. Long pants shall be wom
c. Long hair and loose sleeves shall be restrained
d. Neckties and scarves shall be removed (or shall be tear-away types)
e. Shoes shall cover the toes and have full sides
f. Rings, wrist watches. and loose necklaces shall be removed.

4. All clothing should be durable and hard wearing and expected to


become dirty.

5. aeanup is the responsibility of the experimenter. If the equipment is


not clean, don't start it. When done, if it is not clean, don't leave it.

6. Safety and protective devices are not to be tampered with nor


removed.

7. Check that everyone is clear before closing any switch or opening any
valve.
