1st WITNESS OF THE PROSECUTION

LIEZEL ORAGA
October 4, 2016

Prosecutor: We are offering the testimony of the witness Your Honor to identify
the perpetrator who caused the untimely death of Melona Aligno.

Prosecutor: Madam Witness, do you know a person by the name of Melona Aligno?

Witness: Yes, maam.

Prosecutor: Do you know a person by the name of Jonathan Baguioso?

Witness: Yes, maam.

Prosecutor: How long did you know them, madam witness?

Witness: Ive known Jonathan for almost 20 years, I have only known Melona for 2
years.

Prosecutor: Why do you know them, Madam Witness?

Witness: Jonathan is my neighbor and Melona was his live in partner. They lived
next to our house.

Prosecutor: Where do you live, madam witness?

Witness: At Purok 8, Malindawag, Abuno, Iligan City

Prosecutor: Can you tell the court, madam witness, how far is your house from the
house where Melona and Jonathan had lived?

Witness: Very near, our house is just 10 steps away from their house.

Prosecutor: Madam witness, where were you on March 1, 2006 around 5pm?

Witness: I was alone at home preparing dinner for my family.

Prosecutor: During that time, did you observe any unusual incident that
happened?

Witness: I heard a sound of a woman screaming coming from the house of


Jonathan so I personally checked it thereafter.
Prosecutor: What did you do next?

Witness: I peeped through the window of their front door.

Prosecutor: What did you see madam witness?

Witness: I saw Melona being stabbed on the chest then on the abdomen using a
bladed weapon.

Prosecutor: Your Honor, heres the copy of necropsy report stating that
the victim received multiple stab wounds on chest and abdomen.

Prosecutor: Who stabbed her?

Witness: Jonathan Bagiouso (pointing Jonathan Bagiouso)

Prosecutor: If that bladed weapon will be shown to you, will you be able to identify
it?

Witness: Yes, maam.

Prosecutor: I am showing you this bladed weapon, is this the instrument you are
referring to?

Witness: Yes, thats it.

Prosecutor: May we pray Your Honor that this object evidence be marked
as Exhibit E as previously marked during the pre trial conference?

Prosecutor: After you saw the incident, what transpired next?

Witness: I ran fearing that he might kill me if he sees me.

Prosecutor: Where did you go after?

Witness: At our house, my husband was already at home so I told him what I saw.

Prosecutor: What did he do after?

Witness: He called at the police station.

Prosecutor: Madam witness, in relation to this case, do you remember having


executed or give statement to any authority regarding this matter?

Witness: Yes, Maam.


Prosecutor: In what particular agency?

Witness: PNP, Tambacan Maam.

Prosecutor: Madam witness, I have with me a Sworn Statement of Liezel Oraga


allegedly taken or given to the Police Community Precinct 04, Tambacan, Iligan City
dated March 1, 2006, kindly go over this document if this is the same document you
are referring to?

Witness: This is the document, maam.

Prosecutor: There is a signature over the name Liezel Oraga, whose signature is
this?

Witness: My signature.

Prosecutor: For purposes of identification, may I pray that the sworn statement of
the witness consisting of two pages be marked as Exhibit A and A-1 and the
signature as Exhibit A-2 Your Honor.

Prosecutor: Thats all your honor.


2nd WITNESS OF THE PROSECUTION
CARLITO ALIGNO

Prosecutor: We are offering Your Honor the testimony of Carlito Aligno, the private
complainant of this case and the father of the victim.

Prosecutor: Mr. Witness, do you know a person by the name of Melona Aligno?

Witness: Yes, maam.

Prosecutor: Do you know a person by the name of Jonathan Baguioso?

Witness: Yes, maam.

Prosecutor: Why did you know them?

Witness: Melona Aligno is my daughter maam while Jonathan Baguioso was the
live in partner of my daughter.

Prosecutor: How long did they live together?

Witness: 2 years, maam.

Prosecutor: You said that she is your daughter, may we know where she is now?

Witness: She is already dead, maam.

Prosecutor: When was that?

Witness: On March 01, 2006.

Prosecutor: What is the reason or cause of death of your daughter, if you know?

Witness: She was stabbed by a bladed weapon.

Prosecutor: How did you know that your daughter was stabbed?
Witness: That at around 7:30 pm of March 1, 2006, I was on duty as CAFGU at Sitio
Lamac, Inagongan, Tagoloan, Lanao del Norte when Malacanang Base of Iligan City
called our Patrol Base through our radio and requested to inform me that my
daughter Melona Aligno was stabbed by her live-in partner Jonathan Bagiouso at
around more or less 6:00 pm of the same date at Purok 8, Malindawag, Abuno,
Iligan City.

Prosecutor: What did you do after hearing the report?

Witness: I immediately went home on board a passenger motorcycle but I found


out that my daughter was already dead and was brought Capin Funeral Homes.
Prosecutor: Do you have any idea of the whereabouts of the accused?
Witness: I was informed that the accused Jonathan Baguioso was detained at
Police Community Precinct 04, Tambacan, Iligan City after he voluntarily
surrendered to Brgy. Captain Elizabeth Capangpangan of Inagongan, Tagoloan,
Lanao del Norte.
Prosecutor: Mr. witness, in relation to this case, do you remember having executed
or give statement to any authority regarding this matter?

Witness: Yes, Maam.

Prosecutor: In what particular agency?

Witness: PNP, Tambacan Maam.
