UNIT-I
1. a) An LTI system is described by the equation
y[n] + 2 y[n 1] y[n 2] = x[n]. Determine the cascade and
parallel realization structures of the system 12

2. Find the digital network in direct and transposed form for a system
described by the difference equation:

3. a) Find the linear convolution of the sequences x[n]={1,0,2} and
h[n]={1,1} using DFT 6
b) Describe the circular convolution of two sequences having same

4. a) Perform the linear convolution of the following sequences by
overlap-add method:
x[n]={1,-2,3,2,-3,4,3,-4} and h[n]={1,2,-1} 6
b) Find the four point DFT of the sequence x[n]={2,1,4,3} by
decimation in time FFT algorithm 6
UNIT-III
5. Design a Butterworth low pass filter using bilinear transformation
method to meet the following specifications:
Pass band attenuation 1 dB; Pass band edge=4 kHz; Stop band
edge=8 kHz; Stop band attenuation 40 dB; Sampling rate=24 kHz. 12

6. Design a digital Butterworth filter satisfying the following
specifications:
0.707|H()|1; 00.5 and |H()|0.2; 0.75 with
sampling period T=1s. Apply impulse invariant transformation 12
UNIT-IV
7. Explain the design procedure for the design of lowpass FIR filter
using frequency sampling and windowing techniques. Given that
the impulse response of an FIR filter
