Math Twister

Description:
This rendition of Twister brings a new degree of fun
for students who are practicing their basic math
facts from 0-12.
This game is intended for students from 3rd-5th
grade.

Game Set-up:
Set out twister mat.
Shuffle number cards and place them on separate
colored spaces on the mat.
Organize students into teams or begin if only two
students are playing.

How to Play:
Have teams/students take turns spinning.
Each time the spinner lands on a color, the teams/students are to pick up two cards
on any of those colored spaces on the mat.
The teams/students are to combine the two numbers found on the colored space of
their choosing by using the operation indicated on the game cards (red- addition,
green, subtraction, yellow multiplication and blue- division). The purple spaces on
the spinner are labeled with the instructions the teams/students are to obey. If
the spinner lands on your choice, the student can choose a card from any color on
the mat.
If a team/student gets the answer correct, they can keep the cards.
If they get the answer incorrect, they are to place the cards back on the color
space from which they took them.
Teams/Students do not get multiple spins for correct answers; it is one spin per
team per turn.

How to Win:
When all of the cards are taken off of the mat, each team/student is to count how
many cards that they have collected. The team/student with the most cards wins.
