The document discusses the issue of AIDS in Africa. It presents the views of an individual named Pathé, who believes that AIDS is a fiction invented to promote business interests. Pathé claims he does not know anyone who has died of AIDS. However, the text states that the HIV virus is having a devastating impact across Africa. Some illiterate people believe incorrect things about AIDS, such as that having sex with a virgin can cure infection. As a result, AIDS is spreading rapidly across the continent. The text calls for African authorities to take strong measures to address the problem, including potentially lifting doctor-patient confidentiality for people who deliberately infect others. It notes the heavy toll AIDS is taking on African lives, families, and economies

AIDS IN AFRICA

All this stuff about AIDS is just a means to promote the white mans business interest.
As everyone knows, condoms really had no market until the AIDS zombie was invented. I dont know
anyone who died of AIDS but of people who died of childbirth complications, tuberculosis and malaria.
I am saying AIDS is a fiction all the more since, in my village, when a person from a poor family dies,
5 it's attributed to AIDS, but when death occurs in a wealthy family, its said to be witchcraft Path said.
Though the pandemic of the HIV virus looms large in Africa, numerous illiterate people harbour
such views and even think that an infected person can heal himself by having sexual intercourse with a
virgin. The outcome of these unscrupulous thinkings is that Aids explodes throughout the continent like
a volcano ravaging peoples lives and ruining their destinies. ()
10 (...) The need for efficient measures should lead the African authorities to castigate the criminal
behaviour of some people who, knowing fully well they are infected with HIV / AIDS, go around
spreading the disease that is death to young innocent victims under the pretext of reckless arguments
such as l dont want to die alone. In this regard, they should invite the medical community to initiate
ethical discussions towards lifting the medical confidentiality whenever a person who is fully aware
15 that he is infected with AIDS eagerly contaminates others, for stories of positive HIV carriers
transmitting the virus to others abound in the continent. (...)
(...) The AIDS peril is now corroding the continent. Even the economy is being eaten by it.
The workforce is weakened, job creation is compromised, profitability is reduced and development
efforts imperilled. Families are blown away and tragically, it is the children who shoulder the burden.
20 All over the continent, thousands of kids have to grow up without daddy or mummy. To lose one
or both parents is to face a childhood of suffering and pain. That's why they end up suffering neglect at
the hands of guardians of the community.
