LISTENING
THE BIG WIND BLOWS works similar to that of musical chair game.
1. Before the game started, teacher prepares WORDS OF THE DAY based on topic of the lesson (5
words X 4 sets = 20 pcs) make into word strips, make students read their own strips
2. Students sit in their own chair, while teacher calls out a word, the respective students will stand up.
Next, teacher calls out another word and gradually increase the number of words (1, then 2, 3, 4)
3. Arrange chairs to form a circle, one chair to each student, minus one.
4. Teacher explains about the game: there will be one person standing up while the other sitting down,
each time a word (or more) is called out, respective students should stand up and change seats. The
person standing up also gets a chance to rebut seat to sit down. Students are NOT ALLOWED to sit in
the same seat (must move). Teacher repeats until students get familiar with the game.
5. Advanced: the student standing up gets to call out the words
BINGO uses a piece of paper with a 5x5 grid
1. Each student gets a grid
2. Teacher says the words of the day. Students listen and write each word down in any of the grid at
random.
- Students are not allowed to look at each others paper.
- If students are weak, teacher might assist them with spelling.
3. When everyone is done, teacher says aloud a word and students have to cross the word out.
4. Continue the steps until the first student/group gets a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line completed.
5. Teacher might give points to the student/ group.
