Joja's Deli: a franchise in need of direction

Deadline for handing-in a hardcopy: Friday, February 17th 2017, before class
(4:00 pm)

ASSIGNMENT: Please read the case and answer the following questions (see
partial weights for grading):

1. What do you think of the Jo-Ja's concept as a franchise opportunity? What


would you do to improve the concept? (30%)
2. What do you think of the Levin brothers' management of the Jo-Ja's
franchise business? (30%)
3. What should the Levin brothers do to expand the franchise? (20%)
4. If you were to sell the business, how much do you think the company is
worth? (20%)

IMPORTANT:

The case mentions an Exhibit 1 which is actually not included. Do not


worry: when data is not available in the case, please make and justify
your own assumptions.
Your answers should not exceed 5 pages (you can add a cover page and
appendices).
