The bar chart below shows the numbers of men and women

attending various evening courses at an adult education center

in the year 2009. The pie chart gives information about the ages
of these course participants.

The bar chart highlights information about how many men and women
were enrolled in night classes at an adult school, whereas the pie chart
depicts the percentage of attendees in different age groups.

In general, it can be seen that painting and language are the most
popular courses for both sexes. Interestingly, students aged 50 and
above represent the largest proportion who attended the evening
classes.

Looking at the first diagram, the most popular course among women is
language, with 40 chooses for it as opposed to men, 20. While painting
is the most preferred subject among men, with 25 enrollees, it is only
the second choice for women, with 30 enrolled female students. Twice
as many women opt for drama than men, with 20 compared to 10.
Finally, the sculpture has the lowest number of students, with 10 men
choosing this, just slightly higher than women by 5 enrollees.

According to the second graph, the majority of students who enrolled in

night classes are adults aged 50 or over, at 42%. This was followed by
people aged 40-29 and 30-39, at just above a quarter and just below a
fifth. By contrast, the population of students aged 20-19 is at 11%, just
slightly higher than aged under 20 by 6%; the lowest enrollees among
the rest.
