AW55-50SN Relearn procedure

Works on 09G and AWF-21 etc

After major repairs or installation of AWSK55-50SN Shift kit the TCM will
need to go through a adaptive relearn procedure. It is not uncommon to
have a delay N-D or delay reverse, 2-3 flair etc. until the adaptive relearn
process is complete.

Forward engagement: Engine running @ operating temp. Move the gear


selector from Park to drive, leave in drive for 15 seconds
Repeat process 15 times.

Reverse engagement: Same process as above. Park to reverse, leave in


reverse for 15 seconds repeat 15 times.

A critical component of the relearn procedure is a 30-45 minute road test.


Road test in traffic, freeway speed while performing part throttle & full
throttle downshifts. Give it time to learn, a quick blast around the block will
not be enough.

If your vehicle is a 2000-2001 Volvo there is a re-flash that needs to be


performed on these Cars. We have experienced a few Volvos that needed
The shift adapts re-set to clear up any remaining complaints. To date the
Shift adapts need to be reset at the dealer.
