Public cloud services is an emerging trend in Indonesia, where majority of enterprises and SMBs are beginning to
witness the value of cloud services.
The propensity for cloud adopNon sNll varies, and the divide is sNll noted between enterprises and SMBs, as well as in
verNcals, where Resources & FSI sNll dominate the headlines in terms of cloud usage.
These two verNcals, however, have opted for a more private cloud iniNaNve, leaving public cloud consumpNon, and
more prominently ApplicaNons-as-a-Service and Infrastructure-as-a-Service to SMBs.
IDC has witnessed key demand coming from Manufacturing and Retail, as the government conNnues to push for
transformaNon within these industries. While growth rates look high, however, the base remains small, and therefore
looks more promising than it actually is.

What do you think are the TOP 2 challenges in moving to Cloud? n=101
Security concerns con.nue to be the top challenge for transi.oning to the cloud, as many ver.cals are
s.ll not condent of the current provisioning of cloud services and the security which it entails.
Cost Prohibi.ve was cited as one of the key factors, which con.nues to showcase the lack of
knowledge/awareness for many end-users in adop.ng the cloud based model
Another concern stems from the competency of internal IT sta in transi.oning to a cloud based model
lack of educa.on on the changing of their roles
