Before we go on, lets study the concept of Decimal Fraction.
Decimal fraction is a fraction which is written without a

denominator. It is always less than one.

When we write numbers, the position (or "place") of each digit

is important.
In the number 327:
the "7" is in the Ones position, meaning 7 ones (which is 7),
the "2" is in the Tens position meaning 2 tens (which is twenty),
and the "3" is in the Hundreds position, meaning 3 hundreds.

As we move left, each position is 10 times bigger!
Tens are 10 times bigger than Ones
Hundreds are 10 times bigger than Tens

As we move right, each position is 10 times smaller.

things you buy in stores. All along these activities you make use
of money. You pay when you buy your snacks from the canteen.

We use P for pesos and C for centavos.
We all know that there are 100 centavos in 1 peso.
We use the decimal point in separating the pesos from the

centavos.

3 pesos and 75 centavos = P 3.75
155 pesos and 50 centavos = P 155.50
Just remember, separate the whole number to decimal.
To add decimals, follow these steps:
Write down the numbers, one under the other, with the decimal points
lined up
Put in zeros so the numbers have the same length
Then add using column addition, remembering to put the decimal point
in the answer
Example: Add 1.452 to 1.3

Line the decimals up: 1 . 452
+ 1.3
"Pad" with zeros: 1.452
