Stella Bella is a young wine company, having been established in the year 1996. The promoters, Stuart and Janice, acquired the Suckfizzle vineyard in the Margaret River region and brought out their Sauvignon Blanc Semillon the very next year. It was followed by Stella Bella Pink Moscato in 2000. In 2004, a new range Skuttlebutt was released. HISTORY
Established in 1996. The philosophy behind Stella Bella Wines is to create wines that suit the needs of its customers,
leaving a lasting impression on their minds.
In 1996, Stuart and Janice acquired Suckfizzle
Vineyard in Margaret river for its unique
climate and location. Next year, Suckfizzle
Sauvignon Blanc Semillon was developed. It
was made on the lines of Domaine de
Chevalier wine of Bordeaux. The unusual
name Suckfizzle was taken from a character
in the book Gargantua and Pantagruel,
published in the 15th century.

In 1998, after its release, there were a few


hiccups. The controversy was surrounding its
story and name but maintaining its foothold very
soon things changed and it found a place in
peoples hearts. Just before the dawn of new
millennium, in the year 1999, Stella Bella was
born, which means Beautiful Star in Italian.
Influenced by Italian grape varieties, winemakers
at Stella Bella wanted to produce a wine, a first of
its kind, completely new to Margaret River region.

Stella Bella Pink Moscato was released in 2000,


made from Muscat Rose Petits Grains grape
variety, it made its presence felt and set up a
trend for the forthcoming Moscato wines. 2001
witnessed the production of Stella Bella
Sangiovese Cabernet and Chardonnay, being the
winerys first table wines under its belt.

In 2004, Stella Bella released a fresh range of


wines under the name Skuttlebutt. Four years
later, in 2007, the winery came up with Stella
Bella Serie Luminosa range. Makers of these
wines wanted to showcase the best of Margaret
River and to stand by the high expectations of the
people. Stella Bella Chardonnay won a number of
accolades to its name. Its success was followed by
the release of Serie Luminosa Chardonnay in
2009.

Luke Joliffe, who had joined for 2007 vintage later


became the Senior Winemaker at Stella Wines in
2013.
VINEYARDS

SUCKFIZZLE VINEYARD
Located on Bussell Hwy, Augusta. 7.5 hectares in size.
Grape varieties grown - Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Sangiovese, Chardonnay and Merlot.

KARRIDALE VINEYARD
Planting began in 2008. Located on Brockman Hwy in Karridale. 5.3 hectares in size.
Grape varieties grown Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc.

FOREST GROVE VINEYARD


Planting began in 1998. Located on Sebbes Road in Forrest Grove. 9 hectares in size.
Grape varieties grown - Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Semillon and Merlot.

ISCA VINEYARD
Planting began in 1997. Located on Gnarawary Road in Margaret River region. 22 hectares in size.
Grape varieties grown - Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Semillon, Chardonnay, Muscat Rose Petits Grains
and Sauvignon Blanc.

DARCH VINEYARD
It is about 30-year-old vineyard. Located on Rosa Brook Road in Margaret River. 17 hectares in size.
Grape varieties grown Tempranillo, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and
Shiraz.

AWARDS AND APPRECIATIONS

Stella Bella wines won 2 gold medals and 3 silver medals at Decanter
World Wine Awards in 2016.

In 2017 James Halliday Wine Companion, Stella Bella was given 5 red
stars for an impressive tenth consecutive time.

Three of its wines were on the Gold List and one was commended in
Sommelier Wine Awards 2014.
