This study examined the relationship between formula milk feeding and the incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 0-12 months in the work area of East Singkawang Public Health Center in 2012. The study used a correlational analytical method with a cross-sectional approach and accidental sampling technique. Of the 47 respondents, 25 gave their babies formula milk and 22 gave breast milk with formula. The study found no relationship between formula feeding and diarrhea, as the p-value of 0.244 was greater than 0.05. Therefore, formula feeding was not associated with increased risk of diarrhea in infants aged 0-12 months in the study area.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE GRANTING OF FORMULA MILK WITH
DIARRHEA AT 0-12 MONTHS OLD OF BABY IN WORK AREAS EAST OF SINGKAWANG PUBLIC HEALTH CENTER OF 2012 Dayang Ratna Masdarmiyanti1, Marsia 2, Niya Fittarsih3 ABSTRACT According to WHO (World Health Organization), formula milk is milk that is suitable and acceptable to the baby's body systems. A good formula milk does not cause gastrointestinal disturbances such as diarrhea, vomiting or difficulty in bowel movements. Other disorders such as cough, tightness, and skin disorders. Infant formulas are liquids or powders with a specific formula fed to infants. According to data obtained from the Health Department that lists all health centers Singkawang it was found that patients with diarrhea in the city Singkawang from January to July of 2011 the 7216 patients, especially diarrhea and recent data from the Health Center of East Singkawang that during the year 2011, mentions that people with diarrhea visiting health centers in the region of Eastern Singkawang is 288 people under the age of 1 year and throughout the month of January to March 2012 diarrhea patients under the age of one year as many as 49 babies diarrhea. Diarrhea is always in the top 10 diseases that often affects the order in the region of East Singkawang health center. This study aims to determine the relationship between formula feeding with the incidence of diarrhea in infants aged 0-12 months in the Work Health Center of East Singkawang 2012. This study uses the analytical method corelasional with cross sectional approach with the use of sampling techniques is by accidental sampling is anyone who by chance met the researcher could be used as a sample. The number of samples in this study is as much 47 responden. Of the 47 respondents there were 25 respondents or 53.19%, which gives her baby formula, and 22 respondents or 47.81% who give their babies breast milk with formula milk. Infants with diarrhea by 22 respondents or 47.81% and that did not experience diarrhea by 25 respondents 53.19%. Results of analysis of the relationship between formula feeding in diarrhea incidence of 47 respondents found that the obtained formula-fed infants who have diarrhea that is numbered 14 respondents or 56.00% and formula-fed infants who did not experience diarrhea a total of 11 respondents or 44.00 %. Found that while those fed with formula milk have diarrhea, amounting to 8 respondents or 36.36% and those fed with formula milk that did not experience diarrhea amounted to 14 respondents or 63.64%. P value = 0.244. Because of significant value = 0.244> 0.05 so Ho fails to be rejected. Thus there is no relationship between the incidence of formula feeding with diarrhea at the age of 0-12 months in the region of East Singkawang health center. HUBUNGAN ANTARA PEMBERIAN SUSU FORMULA DENGAN KEJADIA DIARE PADA BAYI USIA 0 12 BULAN DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS SINGKAWANG TIMUR TAHUN 2012 Dayang Ratna Masdarmiyanti1, Marsia 2,Niya Fittarsih 3 INTISARI Menurut WHO (World Health Organization), susu formula adalah susu yang sesuai dan bisa diterima sistem tubuh bayi. Susu formula yang baik tidak menimbulkan gangguan saluran cerna seperti Diare, muntah atau kesulitan buang air besar. Gangguan lainnya seperti batuk, sesak, dan gangguan kulit. Susu formula bayi adalah cairan atau bubuk dengan formula tertentu yang diberikan pada bayi. Susu formula berfungsi sebagai pengganti ASI. Susu formula memiliki peranan yang penting dalam makanan bayi karena sering kali digunakan sebagai satu-satunya sumber gizi bagi bayi. Menurut data yang diperoleh dari Dinas Kesehatan Singkawang yang mendata seluruh Puskesmas maka didapatkan bahwa penderita Diare di seluruh kota Singkawang mulai dari Januari hingga Juli tahun 2011 yaitu 7.216 penderita yang Diare dan data terbaru khususnya dari Puskesmas Singkawang Timur bahwa sepanjang tahun 2011, menyebutkan penderita Diare yang berkunjung di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Singkawang Timur ialah 288 orang pada umur di bawah 1 tahun dan sepanjang bulan Januari sampai Maret 2012 penderita Diare di bawah usia 1 tahun sebanyak 49 bayi yang Diare. Diare selalu masuk dalam 10 besar urutan penyakit yang sering diderita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Singkawang Timur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara pemberian susu formula dengan kejadian diare pada bayi usia 0-12 bulan di wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Singkawang Timur Tahun 2012. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analitik corelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional dengan teknik penggunaan sampel yaitu dengan accidental sampling yaitu siapa saja yang secara kebetulan bertemu dengan peneliti dapat digunakan sebagai sampel. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 47responden. Dari 47 responden terdapat 25 responden atau 53,19% yang memberikan bayinya susu formula dan 22 responden atau 47,81% yang memberikan bayinya susu formula disertai ASI. Bayi yang mengalami Diare sebesar 22 responden atau 47,81% dan yang tidak mengalami Diare sebesar 25 responden 53,19%. Hasil analisa hubungan antara pemberian susu formula dengan kejadian Diare diperoleh bahwa dari 47 responden diperoleh bayi yang diberi susu formula yang mengalami Diare yaitu berjumlah 14 responden atau 56,00% dan bayi yang diberi susu formula yang tidak mengalami Diare berjumlah 11 responden atau 44,00%. Sedangkan diperoleh bahwa bayi yang diberi susu formula disertai ASI yang mengalami Diare berjumlah 8 responden atau 36,36% dan bayi yang diberi susu formula disertai ASI yang tidak mengalami Diare berjumlah 14 responden atau 63,64%. P value=0,244. Karena nilai Signifikan = 0,244>0,05 maka Ho gagal ditolak. Dengan demikian Tidak terdapat hubungan antara pemberian susu formula dengan kejadian Diare pada usia 0-12 bulan di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Singkawang Timur.
